between the rock and hard place
it feels like coming home
time runs it’s restless course
as skeletons batter closets’s doors
squeezing faulty compass’ gear
captain watches his ship go down

avoiding tragedy of making justice done
facing defeat
and showing hands to expose all cards
drowning in lame alternatives’ sea
to stay afloat
something must be thrown overboard
each choice is both right and wrong
demanding sacrifice of someone else

pick up tiny bits that suit you most
of guidepost evangelies you praise
those parts you’d rather skip and erase
swept under thickest rug
long time forgotten

freewill hits weakest heads hard
but slavish brains cannot play game well
submissive cowardice
comes for ready-made remedies
free choice is a blessing sometimes
only with odds at our side


maybe there is no good but lesser evil,
or no evil but the lesser good
each choice is the worst in real life
each option unreal was the righteus one

once you learn all game’s rules
each move is masterpiece
the novice only make shorterm advantage
old pros would easily crush
all on their final stretch
always for the greater good
of race participants

preventing catastrophe

maybe there’s no lesser evil…
maybe no good or evil at all?
